DONE DEALS: Osimhen agreed to join Man United, Mason agreed personal terms to return to Man Utd, seven players agreed to leave Man United and Mbeumo’s transfer to be announced soon- Manchester United’s latest transfer news as the Reds agreed deal for Victor Osimhen

Manchester United have only completed one major signing to reinforce their squad this summer. On the other hand, Chelsea have already secured four key deals to improve their offense.
The two Premier League clubs may secure a deal this summer for the transfer of Christopher Nkunku, as per reports.
Back in the winter transfer window, the Red Devils were interested in signing the French international, but the Blues were asking for a mammoth fee worth £70million.
Now, the asking fee has been cut to half by the Stamford Bridge club and as per The Mirror, Man Utd have been told that they have to agree a deal worth £35m to hire the services of Nkunku.
The 27-year-old warmed the bench in the last campaign and only started nine games in the Premier League under the management of Enzo Maresca.
Moreover, the London side have also snapped up Estevao and Gittens to further strengthen the attacking department and therefore, Nkunku is not needed and will be allowed to leave for just £35m.
The Les Bleus star, who won the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, can effectively play on the left flank, in the No.10 role and also as an out and out striker if needed.
Therefore, Man Utd, who desperately need to improve the creativity of their offense, can benefit from the talent and versatility of Nkunku.
At the moment, the 14-capped international is in America for the Club World Cup and has made 4 appearances thus far in the competition. The Blues will now collide Brazilian side, Fluminense, in the semi final next week.
Have your say – Is Christopher Nkunku good enough to improve Man Utd?
Christopher Nkunku **could absolutely improve Manchester United’s attack** — *if* he can stay fit and regain his pre-Chelsea form.
Here’s a breakdown of **why he might be a smart signing**, but also where the **risks lie**:
—
## ✅ **Why Nkunku to Man Utd Makes Sense**
### 🔥 1. **Elite Potential & Proven Output**
* **Golden Boot winner in the Bundesliga** (2021–22, 2022–23 combined: 36 goals in 59 league games for RB Leipzig).
* Was a **complete attacking threat** in Germany — finishing, dribbling, link-up play, and pressing.
### 🧠 2. **Tactical Flexibility**
* Can play as:
* **Second striker**
* **False 9**
* **No. 10**
* **Left winger**
* Offers United a **versatile attacking option** in systems with Bruno Fernandes or Rasmus Højlund.
### 📉 3. **Cut-Price Deal**
* Chelsea demanding **£35m** — half of what they wanted in January.
* For a **27-year-old in his prime**, it’s a *low-risk/high-reward* scenario in today’s market.
### 📈 4. **United’s Need for Creativity**
* United finished **8th in xG created** last season — chance creation is a major issue.
* Nkunku, when fit, **creates and scores** — something Antony, Rashford, and Sancho have failed to consistently deliver.
—
## ⚠️ **Concerns & Caveats**
### 🤕 1. **Injury Record**
* Missed much of 2023–24 due to **knee and hamstring injuries**.
* Only **9 Premier League starts** — and didn’t look fully sharp when he did play.
* If those problems persist, **he could be another Donny van de Beek situation** — talented, but physically unreliable.
### ❌ 2. **Chelsea’s Willingness to Sell**
* If Chelsea are letting him go *cheap*, that could signal **internal concerns** over his physical condition or long-term fit.
### ⚽ 3. **Disruption to Current Squad**
* Would likely compete with Bruno for the No. 10 role or Garnacho on the left.
* United would need to **move someone on** (e.g., Sancho or Greenwood) to create balance.

## 🔄 Verdict: **Worthy Gamble**
At **£35 million**, signing Nkunku could be a **clever bit of business** by Manchester United. He’s a **match-winner on his day** and adds depth, flair, and goals to an attack that’s been lacking imagination.
But he’ll need **careful management** and a clear role in Ten Hag’s system — or else he could become another expensive misfit.

**Your Take?**
Would you like United to take the gamble — or should they chase someone younger like Desire Doue or go all in on a reliable creator like Joao Neves or Dani Olmo?
